There is a new virus called Downadup and Conficker that exploits a small bug is the Microsoft Windows. It is mostly effecting corporate networks and has not currently done any harm but it has a huge potential to. This virus is spreading like wild fire, this Tuesday there were 2.5 million computer infected on Wednesday there were 3.5 million and on Friday 8 million computer had Downadup on them. This is one of the worst virus that has ever gotten out there. Currently the virus is not stealing information, but it can. It can steal financial information and passwords. It spreads not by e-mail or the web, but by infecting a computer on a network and infects other computer on the same network. Some companies currently have thousands of computers on their networks infected.

I think that this virus could cause very big problems for the corporate world. If hackers have access to corporate financial files then they could exploit and bring down that company. In this article they said how the virus spreads but they did say how it gets into the networks or what they are doing to find who created it. The first thing companies should do is find the computers infected and take them off their network, I know that completely shutting down a network would cause companies to lose a lot of money, but it might be less that letting this virus to continue.
