A Newer Way to Learn

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/living/2009/01/07/kloss.goodbye.chalkboard.ketv

Schools around the country are now using "active boards" instead of chalk boards. Teachers say that it helps and encourages the students to lean while keeping them interested. Teachers can customize their lesson plans, and use the interactive board to project their lessons. With this new active board students do not even have to raise their hands, they can text their answers to the teacher using a cell phone like device. Teacher are excited at the fact that this new teacher tool can and will encourage students to get involved in the class room.

I think that it is about time that something like this was invented. I know that Ohio Northern has smart boards, but from the new report it seem that these active boards can do much more than the smart boards. The teacher receives a wireless hand held clip board thing, that they can use to interact with the active board. It is only a matter of time until this disruptive innovation completely takes over and every school will have to implement these devices into their class rooms.
