We all know the stories, 2012 the world is going to end. A myth that has been over played and hyped up for many years. Even if 2012 has been over played there is still some truth behind the stories. It marks the end of a 5,126 year cycle on the Maya calendar when the sun aligns with the center of the Milky Way and the theorist say that there could be a wide range of solar storms, volcanic eruptions, and even cause the rotation of the earth to revers direction. Top Maya researchers say that the Mayas did not intend 2012 to mark the end of the world, but rather a major change. The fear has causes a frenzy of books and movies to be produced in order to ride the doomsday cash cow all the way to the bank. All the books and movies are doing is adding fuel to the fire and increasing fear in the public that is completely unnecessary.

My prediction is one of two things first nothing happens, the reason that the Maya calender stops in 2012 is because the Mayas were sick of making calenders a whole civilization that spent 95% of their live time creating calenders, they must of got board. And the fact that they predicted their own extinction was a lucky guess. My second prediction is that it become a Self fulfilling prophecy we worry about it so much that it comes true.

How does this relate to E-Commerce you ask? It relates because the Mayas have greatly affected our E-Commerce because of all the hype that has been created by the 2012 doomsday. People are creating web sights and talking about it on online forums and even making movies. This is only going to create a world wide panic that could potentially cause " the end of the world as we know it". So my sugestion is that we do noting, stop writing books and making movies, because the last thing we all need right now is somthing eles to worrie about.
